The Impact of Oppression on Bisexual Mental Health
Bisexuality can be an umbrella term for people whose sexualities are not defined by romantic and/or sexual attraction to members of one gender identity. Often, the “B” in LGBTQ is left out of research and practice. This lack of bisexual inclusion is significant as research has illustrated that bisexual people report mental health disparities compared to heterosexual, and gay and lesbian communities.

Learning Outcomes:
- Define bisexuality, bisexual mental health, and biphobia
- Recognize how biphobia unintentionally shows up in social work practice
- Learners’ will be introduced to practical skills and recommendations to increase their ability to confidently provide affirming and inclusive support to bisexual peoples.
